Worrying Tyre Safety Issues

Figures obtained from the Ministry of Justice by motoring safety organisation TyreSafe, have shown that over 170 motorists each and every week during 2012 have been convicted for driving on defective tyres - and this is but a small number of those that have actually been caught.

With a focus on tyre safety this month through the much publicised National Tyre Safety month, retailers and Police forces countrywide are keen to stress the importance of properly maintained tyres. Unfortunately, a number of motorists simply do not understand the importance of tyres on their vehicles and leave them to chance.

National Tyre Safety month is not about generating tyre sales - despite the very obvious links with retail tyre sales. Raising awareness of the serious safety risks naturally enhances the industry, but also ensures that motorists become more aware of the products they purchase.
