Hometyre Enjoy Back to Back Victories with Autogem's Under Pressure TPMS Competition

Craig keeps calm under pressure beat hundreds of technicians!

Our local technician, Craig, from Milton Keynes has prevailed over hundreds of fellow professionals to win a prestigious tyre-related competition for the second year running, after wowing judges with his ability to diagnose and resolve issues and communicate clearly throughout.

Craig has won Autogem's Under Pressure '23 TPMS competition at the Pirelli Performance Centre (PPC) in Burton-upon-Trent on Wednesday June 28, putting the Hometyre brand in the spotlight once again.

Under Pressure '23 is the industry's only dedicated campaign to celebrate excellence in TPMS customer engagement and technical resolution and a commitment from Autogem to position the technology as a stand-alone category on a par with brakes, batteries, tyres or any other aspect of motoring care.

In winning the small-retailer category, Craig beat hundreds of other tyre technicians across the UK and incredibly, made it two wins from two having triumphed in Autogem's inaugural event in 2022.

A judging panel consisting of motoring journalist Rob Marshall, Tyres & Accessories editor Chris Anthony and Autotech Training's Head of Operations Alistair McCrindle observed and questioned Craig after he tended to a specially prepared car with hidden TPMS issues and faults, with scores being given for all aspects of his performance.

Autogem's Managing Director Prashant Chopra said: "Craig once again blew us away with his ability. He won last year's competition and it was great to see him qualify and defend his title again this time around against some new faces in a new format event. He should be very proud and we couldn't be happier for him"

Craig said: "I felt under pressure this time. It definitely was harder than last year. Timings were shorter. There was a real sense of community this year amongst some of the returning finalists and the venue is fantastic."

Motoring journalist Rob Marshall added: "Autogem have raised the bar once again, and we can't praise them enough for their initiative in what was an event we'll remember for a long time. TPMS is safety critical and part of the MOT test. It is important to raise awareness, which is what Autogem have done so well here."
