Tyres Changed at 3mm Tread Depth in North London | Hometyre Mobile Tyre Fitting at Home

Yesterday we installed four new Nexen NBlue tyres to Honda Jazz in Watford. During the pandemic the gentleman stayed at home but was now out and about driving a lot more and had worn through the tyres! It is certainly not difficult to see how the great convenience of not having to leave home and wait around elsewhere to have all four tyres changed on your car would be of particular benefit to this customer as they were still weary of public spaces!

Three of the four tyres were already at the legal limit of 1.6mm with the other being about 3.2mm which is nearing the recommended changing depth of 3mm. Going below this recommended depth can greatly increase the braking distance and won’t be as ‘grippy’ during wet weather as the grooves in the tyre aren’t deep enough to easily channel the water out.

Especially coming into winter, the more tread the easier it is to steer and brake in the ice and snow!
