Mini Run-Flat Tyre Change at Work in Cambridge

Run-Flat tyres are not as common as they once were but are still found on most BMW, Mini, Mercedes-Benz and some Lexus SUV models.

These tyres have a reinforced side-wall that allow the driver to drive with no pressure in the tyre. Most manufactures allow the driver to go 50km for a maximum speed of 50km/h but some brands are higher whilst others are lower, check your tyre to see what you can do!

This customer had used this ability to drive on the flat tyre for more than the recommended time and had destroyed the tyre so needed to be changed as soon as possible. Luckily, they managed to get to work so we could come to their work address to help. As Run-Flat tyres have stiff reinforced sidewalls, fitting them is a little bit more involved and some tyre fitters prefer to avoid them, but at Hometyre the high specification of our van's equipment ensures we get the job done in no time at all.
