Winter Tyres Mobile Installed at Home for a Skoda in Bristol

Winter has come, it was only a few weeks ago that we saw rays of sun and highs of 25. Contrasting to this morning where we saw 2°c and frost, the season has soon changed for the worst.

7° is the magic number, this is where summer tyres start to harden and become less effective. Compared to winter tyres which are designed to stay flexible and malleable below these temperatures, summer tyres just can’t get enough grip on the ice and start skating around. If your tyres are below the 3mm recommended depth of change, then it can be near impossible to find grip regardless of the weather!

This customer had originally called us to book a tyre inspection before they headed abroad for a winter ski trip. After attending the Skoda, all four Continental summer tyres were on 2.5mm and not suitable for heavy snow conditions. In addition, he was passing through Germany which states that “In the case of motor vehicles the equipment should be adapted to the weather conditions. This particularly includes suitable tyres.”.
