Two Budget Tyres for a Ford Fiesta

After a discussion with the customer, it was decided to go for a pair of budget tyres. The reason behind this was due to the mileage and the frequency of use. If the customer had gone for a premium tyre, such as a Michelin, it would have aged and perished before the tread had worn. Despite being budget tyres, these are still brand new and tested by the same governing bodies as premium tyre manufactures.

With the tyres on the van, we headed out to the customer's house and got to work with replacing the worn tyres. Before going ahead, we had a chat with the customer to explain the benefits of swapping the new tyres onto the rear. As most cars are front engined, the weight of the engine helps put pressure onto the tyres and increases grip. But, the rear is left without this benefit. Having the new tyres swapped onto the rear helps to increase grip and stability. The customer approved and we got the go ahead to perform the swap over. We jacked up the whole vehicle and placed it onto jackstands. We then removed the front wheels and placed them into our van ready for the removal. The rears were taken one by one into the van and balanced (just in case!) then placed onto the front of the car and hand tightened.

The old tyres (in the van) had the bead broken, removed and the new ACHILLES 205/40 R17 installed. Just like the rear tyres, these were then balanced and placed back onto the vehicle. The vehicle was then lowered to the floor and the nuts 

With the current health pandemic, we sanitized all work surfaces including the car keys and locking wheel nut. This was then placed back onto the porch for the customer to collect. In regards to payment, we called the customer and took it over the phone. Usually we love human interaction! But, we want everyone to be safe during this time of crisis.
