Tyre Pressure Light Reset on Toyota Aygo X – Hometyre Mobile Tyres
TPMS on the Toyota Aygo X used to be direct, meaning there was a sensor within each of the tyres monitoring the pressures inside the tyre.
This is a much more accurate way to measure your tyre pressures, it takes a precise reading and alerts the driver of exactly which tyre has an issue and what the pressure of that specific tyre is.
The reset procedure on these systems is also different. To reset the direct TPMS on the Aygo pre 2023, you simply inflate the tyres to the correct pressures and drive for a specified length of time at a particular speed.
Indirect TPMS System on the Toyota Aygo X from 2023.
In 2023, Toyota changed the system on the Aygo X to an indirect TPMS.
These systems do not use sensors to give the driver an exact reading, instead they use the vehicle's ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) or ESC (Electronic Stability Control) to measure rotational speeds of individual wheels and tyres.
As a tyre deflates, its overall diameter will decrease and individual wheel speed sensors detect and report the event to the driver.
What is the Reset Procedure on the INDIRECT System?
To reset your TPMS light on your 2023 onwards Toyota Aygo X, follow the below steps:
