Vauxhall Astra TPMS Reset - Tyre Pressure Light ON!
Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems can come in many shapes and sizes. The most common form of these is the indirect system. This simply means that the car's computer doesn't have a sensor within the tyre and relies on a sensor mounted to the wheel hub. This constantly monitors and calculates the rolling circumference of the tyre. If there are any changes, it flashes a warning on the dashboard to alert the driver.
However, the most well known type of sensor is the one fitted directly to the wheel. From the outside, these look like standard valves but when you peel back the layers and look inside the wheel, there will be a small box. This houses the battery and sensors which constantly monitor the air pressure for any irregularities. As these units are open to the elements, the are enclosed in a seal box, once the battery dies, the whole unit needs to be replaced. Fortunately, our mobile tyre fitting experts have the correct equipment on the van to completely overhaul a TPMS system from head to toe!

For Vauxhall Astra 2016 and beyond see below for a brief on how to reset the TPMS system;
1. Park in a safe place and turn off the engine.
2. Turn ignition ON to the accessories position (the one before total ignition)
3. Navigate to the Vehicle Information Menu by using the MENU button on the side of the turn signal.
Other models may have a navigation button on the steering wheel. Press this to access INFO
4. Scroll down and select the Tyre Pressure Menu
5. Press the SET/CLR button to start the TPMS reset.
If the procedure is under way, the horn will sound once!
