Release of the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5
Goodyear have officially launched the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5, their next generation UHP (ultra high performance) road tyre, a follow up from the previous Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3.
The Asym 3 provided us with shorter braking distances on both wet and dry roads, increased grip for responsive handling and control and SoundComfort technology by Goodyear resulting in a much quieter ride.
The Asym 5 shows even further improvement on those all important braking distances thanks to the impulse control compound, reduced flex in the tread pattern and active braking. The tyre also features the improved SoundComfort technology, now reducing your vehicles interior noise level by up to 50%.
All these improved features have not compromised ride comfort and is aimed to suit everything from a Vauxhall Corsa to a Maserati Quattroporté.
It was developed with a "highly-refined compound that combines wet weather capabilities without sacrificing endurance or dry handling performance".
"Thanks to a contact patch designed to extend when braking, the tyre's contact with the road increases to a level more usually associated with a track tyre, resulting in wet stopping distances which are a significant 4 percent shorter compared to the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3," Goodyear said in a press statement.
Not all sizes will be released immediately, Goodyear have announced they will be introducing a range of sizes between February and May 2019 with the view to releasing more between June and December 2019.
Goodyear will offer the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 in sizes from 17" to 22" diameter, all of which we are able to fit here at Hometyre, at your home or place of work!
