Hometyre Provide Track-Side Support for Red Bull at Goodwood FOS

We were privileged to be invited to work alongside the mighty Red Bull at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year.

It was an epic 6 days for both our local Hometyre tech Mark from West Sussex and our Hometyre Shropshire technician Wayne earlier this month when they were invited access all areas at the FOS.

Wayne was working alongside Red Bull in the Cathedral Paddock. He met the drift athletes and worked on an array of incredible vehicles, including Mad Mike's McLaren! We were lucky enough to see the beauty days before it was revealed to the general public on the Saturday of the Festival of Speed.

The vehicle we changed the most tyres on for Red Bull over the weekend was the Lexus RC, every single lap that beast did resulted in a new set of rubber!

See below for the state the tyres came back in after just one lap of the track! Although, I guess you can't expect a lot from those poor tyres after the way they're thrashed around corners and demonstrating donuts for the crowds!

Luckily, the rain mostly held off and there were minimal delays due to weather! The sun shone through the it was a joy to watch the drivers thrash their cars on the infamous Goodwood Hill Climb Circuit.

It wasn't all work, our team also got to have an access all areas walk around the site to check out the other vehicles at the festival. There were all manner of vehicles at the FOS, from old classics, as early as 1905, right up to the brand new reveal cars, showing the future of the roads!

We've been present at Goodwood for many years but each year brings new challenges, new technology and new experiences for our on-site team! We've already been lucky enough to be asked back next year and we already can't wait!!
