Tyre fitting Attleborough
Hometyre Norfolk, the mobile tyre fitting service that comes to you, went to a repeat customer from Norwich, who works in Attleborough at Banham Poultry Ltd.
The customer contacted us as they had a puncture on their Vauxhall Astra and their tyre was losing pressure every few days. We went to this customer’s work to replace the tyre. We found two causes of the problem, firstly, there was a nail in the tyre and secondly, the tyre pressure monitoring (TPMS) valve was leaking.
After jacking the vehicle up and removing the wheel, we replaced the valve stem and the tyre, removing a Nexen and replacing with a new Nexen (225/40/18).
We also carried out a free tyre safety check, where we found both of the front tyres had 2mm tread on them close to the 1.6mm legal limit. The other rear tyre (a continental) was four years old and beginning to perish, displaying visible cracks. After pointing this out to the customer, they requested we return the next day to replace the remaining three tyres and a further three TPMS valves as a precaution.
At the same time, we also carried out work on another vehicle, where we removed two Continental tyres and fitted two Nexen tyres 225/40/18 to a Mercedes A Class.
