Run flat Tyre to a BMW in Diss.

Hometyre Norfolk, the mobile tyre fitting service that comes to you, received a call to Diss. We were to remove a Goodyear run flat tyre (225/40/19 93Y) and replace with a mid range Falken runflat tyre. The vehicle was a BMW 3 series. The work was carried out at the customer's place of work at 121 computing in Diss.

On the tyre we removed, the shoulder had split. This was because on checking the other air pressures, there was 18 PSI lower than they should be. They had been running on lower pressure for some time, run flat tyres have reinforced sidewalls, making these tyres very heavy, so running in these tyres flat can cause a lot of damage inside the tyre. In this case it had split the shoulder in the outer edge of the tyre.

After competing our free tyre safety check, there was evidence that the opposite side was about to do the same. We recommended to the customer to have this tyre changed as soon as possible.

We adjusted all of the air pressures, so that they were now correct and gave the wheels a cheeky lil clean.
