Repeat puncture

Hometyre Norfolk, the mobile tyre fitting service that comes to you, were called to a job in Ely, near Diss, to a repeat customer but a different vehicle.

Previously, we had fitted 3 Avon tyres (205/50/17) and sealed 3 beads from leaky rims on a Volvo V50.

The customer wanted a puncture repair on a Nexen tyre (225/45/19) on a Nissan Qashqai.

We found the puncture fairly quickly, it was caused by flint from a gravel driveway that had pierced in the centre of the tread. This meant that this time, the puncture was repairable, so we patched the tyre, rebalanced the wheel, leak tested the wheel, replaced the tyre onto the vehicle, checked all the pressures, reset the Tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) light and gave the wheels a cheeky little clean.
