Locking Wheel Nut Removal to a Nissan in Diss
Hometyre Norfolk, the mobile tyre fitting service that comes to you, were called to a repeat customer's home, in Diss. The customer had a flat tyre after receiving a puncture but had lost his locking wheel but key (car security key). We have been to this customer before, to fit two budget tyres on his work van, which was a Ford Transit Connect.
This time, it was his personal vehicle 🚗, which was a Nissan Qashqai. We were to remove the locking wheel nut and either carry out a puncture repair or fit a new mid-range Nexen tyre (215/55/18 99V).
On arrival and inspection of the tyre, it was very close to the 1.6mm legal limit. Therefore, we suggested that the tyre should need replacing. We removed an Continental tyre and replaced it with the Nexen. We also suggested while we were there to remove the remaining locking wheel nuts, as if was to be in the same situation, he would not be able to remove the other wheels, which we did.
We also carried out. A tyre pressure monitoring check (TPMS), we adjusted tyre pressures, then reset the tyre light and gave the wheels a cheeky lil clean.
