Caravan blow-out

Around this time of year, spring. Caravan club owners are looking to upgrade their tyres and service their caravans ready for the summer.

Hometyre Norfolk provide a number of mobile tyre services for caravans, as it is important that your tyres aren't too old (recommended to change every 5-6 years) or low on tread.

We also offer Tyron bands, that fit in the tyre well in-between the alloy and the tyre.

Tyron bands protect against tyre failure, preventing the tyre from coming off the wheel and causing your caravan to capsize, allowing you to find a safe place to stop.

This wasn't the case recently as Hometyre Norfolk were called out to job in Wymondham to fit three midrange Maxxis CR966 Tires 195/70/R14 to a single axle caravan.

I found the tyres on the caravan were over 10 years old, this is a long way over the recommendation to change tyres every 5-6 years.
One of the tyres was completely destroyed due to the age of the tyre.

I fitted two of the tyres to the vehicle and one was to be kept as the spare.
