Just tell us where you would like your tyres replaced/repaired in Enfield and we will arrive in a fully equipped tyre fitting van at a time convenient for you. We have access to a massive range of tyres that can be fitted, from a budget 205/55/R16 to the latest high-performance MO-rated tyres for Mercedes. We also have access to a wider range of tyres than your standard tyre bay, so if you are having problems getting a particular tyre - call today and we can search the whole country if need be for your tyre.
So if you want a premium tyre, such as Pirelli P Zero, Continental Contact, Dunlop SportMaxx or Michelin Pilot Sport, we will be able to get it for you. If you are in the market for a low-cost brand such as Kenda, Matador or Triangle, among many others, then these tyres (and other brands) can also be supplied quickly and efficiently.
1 in 5 of all motorway breakdowns is caused by a tyre problem, 5 Min's checking the condition of your tyres and the tyre pressures before you set off on a long journey can save many hours stuck on the side of the road.
It is possible that you are spending too much on fuel because of your tyres, low tyre pressure accelerates tyre wear and increases fuel consumption. Tyres under-inflated by 10psi (pounds per square inch) can cause a staggering 37% increase in tyre wear and over a 6% rise in your fuel consumption! Hometyre can service your Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) which is used to monitor your tyre pressures. The valve stems can corrode due to salt and water from the road and the actual sensor inside the wheel can have battery failure after 5+ years. For more information, including advice and prices, please visit our TPMS page or give Hometyre a call on 0800 783 9310.
If your tyres are found to have a tread depth under 1.6mm, you'll get 3 points on your license and up to £2,500 in fines for each illegal tyre. Why lose your right to drive over something that's so easy to fix? Book now with Hometyre and you can drive with the peace of mind that all your tyres are far above the legal limit.
Though the law requires at least 1.6mm of tread, we recommend you don't drive with tyres under 3mm. Past this point, tyre performance drops off a cliff with stopping time greatly increased, especially in the rain. With a service as quick and convenient as ours, there's no reason to risk crashing your car or worse by driving on worn out tyres.
There are two types of puncture repair: string, and plug and patch. A string works fine as a temporary fix until you can get a proper plug and patch installed but, unfortunately, some garages use a string on unsuspecting customers who have no way of knowing which method of puncture repair was used, as it's all done out of sight inside the tyre.
Without knowing it, they're driving on tyres that could fail at any moment.
At Hometyre, we only use plug and patch puncture repair, which is a durable, permanent fix for a puncture. If the puncture has left the tyre too damaged or is too close to the edge, then we'll replace the tyre instead so that you can get back on the road.
Like all our services, puncture repair can be booked at a time and place of your choice. Book online 24/7 or by calling 0800 783 93 10 or 0333 444 5454.
So, you lost/damaged your locking wheel nut key. It's not the end of the world, but it might be the end of your wheel if you try to remove it without having the right tools for the job. What should have been a simple procedure can quickly become a costly repair if your damage the locking wheel nut or the rest of the wheel.
Instead of risking a DIY job or wasting time down the garage, book a Hometyre appointment by calling 0800 783 93 10 or 0333 444 5454 and we'll come direct to your driveway, your work or anywhere else you leave your car.
It couldn't be simpler, and you don't need to leave home. Our vans have all the equipment needed to do the job safely and put the wheel nut back on without too much tension, so you'll be able to easily take it off by hand next time.
Nothing's worse than feeling the dreaded clunk of driving over a pothole. With the pothole problem becoming increasingly severe, more and more of us are having to deal with cracked wheels caused by poorly maintained roads.
While potholes are hard to avoid, the damage they do has never been easier to fix. Hometyre Enfield provides mobile wheel welding that can fix any nasty cracks in your alloy wheels. Simply choose a time and a place convenient to you and we'll take the damaged wheel, have it repaired then bring it back ready for the road.
Please note that if you're reading this page from outside Enfield that wheel welding is not available in all areas, so call us 0800 783 93 10 or 0333 444 5454 to check what services are available to you.
Even new tyres are rarely perfect and during fitting it is usually necessary to fit some balancing weights to ensure the smooth running of the wheels. Unbalanced wheels can result in vibrations at some speeds. During the fitting of new wheels, the weights are fixed to the wheels to equalise the weight of the rubber on the rim, creating a vibration free ride. There are other reasons of a mechanical nature that could cause a vibration, but checking the balance should be the first port of call.
Caravan and motorhome season might be over but some people are still using there caravans and motorhomes, time to check your tyres in preparation for your next journey. The risk of a blowout increases if your tyres are not in good condition, and this could result in you losing control of your vehicle.
When compared to the average car or van, caravans and campervans do fewer miles. As a result, there may appear to be plenty of tread left on the tyres; however, it is important to look for signs of cracking on the sidewalls and inside the tread pattern. Checking the Date Code on the sidewall of the tyres will reveal their age. Should your tyres be five years old or more, it would be advisable to replace them soon, so please get in touch.
Additionally, think about getting TYRON safety bands fitted. Hometyre Enfield is an authorised supplier and fitter of TYRON safety bands, and these will stop your caravan tyre coming off the wheel should the tyre suffer from a blowout or puncture, allowing you to control your vehicle and stop safely.
