Blown and Shredded Porsche Tyre Replacement in Enfield | Hometyre Mobile Tyre Fitting

Stemming from the Roman era, London’s roads tend to be in good nick with little to no potholes. It’s only when you start venturing out of town that you come across craters the size of the Mariana Trench. Unfortunately for this customer, this pothole snuck up on them in the night and shredded one of the tyres. Most mobile companies can certainly help with this but we aren’t most companies. Due to the nature of the cars in London, we carry the single spindle torque wrench designed to remove and tighten these F1 style nuts often found on high performance and exotic cars.

After arriving at the customer’s house, we inspected the other tyres to ensure no damage had been caused during the ‘off-road ‘experience. The front tyre had sustained some visual damage (cuts to the side-wall) but had not gone through the protective layer. We jacked the Porsche up, removed the offending wheel and placed it on our van ready to start work on getting the customer back on the road. We removed the valve core, deflated the tyre and removed it from the rim. Before installing the new tyre, the rim was inspected for any cracking, corrosion or general damage. Fortunately for the customer there was no damage to the wheel.

The new 305/30R20 Pirelli PZERO N0 Porsche fitment tyre was then installed, inflated, balanced and then given a quick clean to remove the brake dust. The complex task of installing the wheel could now begin. A brief run down would be to; install the wheel onto the hub, torque to the required torque setting, reduce the tightness a quarter of a turn then torque back up to specification.
