Hometyre can save you time & money by coming to you when and where you want. Why go to them, when we come to you? and at no additional cost.

Tyres for Cars, Vans, 4x4's, Motorhomes, Caravans, Horse trailers, etc.

Whether you want:

  • Top of the range - Dunlop, Continental, Michelin, Bridgestone, Goodyear, Pirelli.
  • Mid-range - Avon, Hankook, Yokohama, Maxxis, Nexen, Toyo, Firestone, Kumho, Falken, Nexen.
  • Budgets such as Event, Hifly, GT Radial, Riken, Autogrip, Accelera, Westlake, Mazzini, etc.
We supply and fit all types of tyre including run flat tyres, run-on-flat, RSC, ZP tyres, high performance, 'all season' tyres or even tyres for classic and vintage vehicles.

Work is carried out at a time and place to suit you, including some evenings and weekends at no additional charge. If you have TPMS valves then you should let us also service the valve at a small additional cost. (It is recommended to service a TPMS valve every time a tyre is changed, as the rubber seals dry out and cause a slow leak).

Winter to Summer tyre swap overs

If you already have winter tyres on your car and want to go back to Summer tyres, then give us a call at Hometyre to book a time for us to change them over for you. As part of the change over we fit new rubber valves, or if fitted, we check your TPMS sensors, and balance the wheels.

4x4 tyres

landrover defender tyres

2WD, 4WD, AT, UHP, On road, Off road - We have all types available.

4WD vehicles should generally change both tyres on the same axle at the same time. Especially if there is more than 4mm difference in tread depth across the same axle, otherwise you may cause damage to your vehicles differential.

We can supply and fit tyres for Range Rovers, Evoque's, Landrovers, Suzuki's, Jeeps, Mitsubishi's, Nissan Navarro, Toyota Landcruisers, Audi Q series, Mercedes M series, BMW X series, Hyundi, Jeeps, Dacia, Volvo and Kia 4x4's, etc.

Also consider having a four wheel alignment at the same time as having your tyres fitted.

Specialist tyres

DaimlerJaguar with wire wheels

We often get called out to cars that have special requirement, such as: Track legal road tyres, 'Conti-seal tyres', Conti-silent tyres, Runflats, SSR, RSC, ZP, Classic car tyres, Vintage tyres, White walls, Kit car tyres, snow tyres, all season tyres and even race/track tyres.

All of these can be obtained through Hometyre and we will come out and fit them for you.

Recently I have fitted tyres to a Morgan Plus 4 and an MG BGT with wire wheels, a Citroen 2CV, a Volvo track car, an MG kit car, a frog-eye sprite, an E Type Jaguar, a Maserati, an American Corvette, a Bentley with white wall tyres and even Conti-seals to the new Rolls Royce Wraith.

Wheel Alignment (Tracking)

General wear and tear on your suspension, or hitting a kerb or pothole can knock your tracking out of true and you will need your alignment adjusting back to the correct manufacturer settings.

A correctly aligned vehicle will have improved tyre wear, use less fuel, plus have improved handling.

Does your vehicle pull to one side when driving? Do your tyres wear unevenly? Is your steering wheel on an angle when you are driving straight? These are all signs of a possible tracking error.

Vibration through the steering wheel when driving at speed is a sign of a balancing error, not an alignment issue. (Although we can also re-balance your wheels if required)

If you think your vehicle has a tracking problem then contact us for a two or four wheel alignment check. We have SuperTracker laser alignment equipment, and use this along with the manufacturers settings to get your vehicle back in line. It is recommended that all vehicles have their tracking checked every 10,000 miles, once a year or every time you have new tyres fitted.

Puncture repairs

Hometyre can carry out permanent puncture Puncturerepairs (screws / nails in the central 3/4 of the tread area) to British standards. We do not use the temporary string and glue method used by some of our competitors.

We cannot repair the sidewalls or the shoulders of the tyre. Also we cannot repair runflat tyres.

We can also carry out slow puncture repairs where air can leak from under the rim through corrosion or from around the valve. In the case of a leaking rim we remove the tyre, clean off any loose paint and corrosion, before applying a sealer, adding a new rubber valve, replacing the tyre and re-balancing the wheel before refitting it to your vehicle. If steel valves are fitted, we may need to replace them, or if you have TPMS valves they may need service parts.

Locking wheel nut removal

Locknut removal

Have you bought a used car without a lock nut removal key, or has yours been damaged or lost ?

Give us a call. We have a specialist tool that is only available to the motor industry, this can remove all types of locking wheel nut without damaging your wheels.

Don't waste your money on the cheap reverse thread tools, as these don't work on most of the hardenend nuts, the McGard nuts, Peugeot / Citroen nuts with the spinning centre, nuts with revolving collars, the domed nuts (Jaguar and Landrover) or the spinning nuts (Volvo and Ford). Over the last 9 years I have removed over 500+ lock nuts without fail.

Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems - Valves (TPMS)

TPMS sensor valve

Tyre pressure sensors have been around for some time, but some of the older ones are now starting to fail, which can effect your MOT. All new vehicles since 2014 must have some form of pressure monitorin working condition.

Hometyre can supply and fit the direct systems which use a special sensor valve, seen in the photo. These generally have a 5 to 7 year lifespan, at which point the battery fails to work. We can replace these sensor valves at prices that beat most main dealers. Since 2014 if fitted, these sensor valves became part of the MOT system, they must work to pass the MOT, any light on the dash will mean it fails.

Hometyre vans now carry a TPMS diagnostic tool that can check these valves and can produce cloned new sensor valves if required, these can be programmed to comply with your cars computer. In some cases we can even repair your existing valves.

Caravan, Motorhome & horse trailer tyresCaravan_8

The tyres on these vehicles should be changed every 5 to 7 years, as they start to degrade and harden having stood around for long periods of time. We at Hometyre specialise in these vehicles and will come to you wherever you keep your vehicle, (Home, storage area, camp site, or stables).

Should you also have Tyron safety bands or would like a set, then we have been trained by Tyron UK, and are one of their preferred suppliers and fitters. I personally have seen many Tyron bands with parts missing, fitted upside down, or they have fitted the wrong size. Call Hometyre we are professionals and know what we are doing, I have been to Tyron UK's head office for training, not many tyre companies can say that.
