Response to a Negative Review

In May 2019 I attended a repeat customer to replace a single tyre on a Mercedes C Class due to a bulge (egg) on the side of the tyre.

During the visit we discussed how the tyre was damaged. The car had been driven into a traffic island causing the bulge. With this in mind, it was no surprise to see a small "Nick" in the wheel perpendicular to the outer lip.

Unfortunately after the appointment was completed the customer then attempted to blame me for the damage.

It is crystal clear that the damage is impossible to have be caused by the fitting or removal of the tyre. In part due to the fact that I use the latest fitting technology where all fitting tools are now plastic, the depth of the mark, and no part of the machine or tools touch that part of the wheel.

Over many emails back and forth, the customer described the impact with the curb as a scrape. A scrape would have not caused the damage to the tyre that was presented.

The damage is 100% consistent with a curb or pothole impact.

On many occasions I offered to return to the customers address and demonstrate how it was not possible for me to cause the damage. I have never damaged a wheel in the many years of tyre fitting I have under my belt.

I also contacted other experts in the trade and the unanimous response was that the damage was not caused by fitting.

Unfortunately there are people who try to "try it on" at others expense. My 5* review rating and level of repeat customers is proof that I have a 100% happy customer rate.
