5 Essential Car Checks, To Give You a Smooth Trip

The summer is coming and thousands of families, couples and individuals will be taking to the road travelling to holiday destinations, airports, relatives and more.

Here are a few things that you can do to ensure your trip goes without a hickup!

1. Tyres! (it was going to be wast it!) Pressure, Tread and Condition. Ensure your pressures are correct, for usual load or heavy load if the car is full of occupants and luggage. Tread depth should be minimum 3mm across the whole tyre. When checking for condition you are looking for cracks, bulges, objects stuck in the tread or penetrating the tyre. Also check the age, over 5 years might be worth changing.

2. Fluids, check oil, water, washer fluid.

3. Hometyre (for tyre issues) or Breakdown cover phone numbers, hopefully you wont need it, but if you do its an essential number to have!

4. Spare and tools, ensure your spare wheel and tyre are in good condition, inflated to the correct pressure and your jack, tools and locking wheel nut are all present.

5. Bulbs, make sure all your lights around the car are working, this will keep you visible and safe!
