Tyron Bands for Caravans and Motorhomes in Hampshire | Hometyre Mobile Caravan Tyre Fitting
When people think of run-flat tyres, they often think of harsh rides, excessive noise emitted from tyres and a high price compared to standard tyres. Run-flats are typically associated with BMW however other car brands have selectively adopted it such as Nissan on the R35 Skyline GTR, Mercedes on the GL series of products. Run-flat tyres are tyres that have a reinforced sidewall that prevents the tyre from coming off the rim in the event of a sudden pressure loss and supports the weight of the vehicle with zero air pressure in the tyres chamber. For caravans, no such tyre exists in their respective sizes. However, there is a product on the market that can prevent the tyre from coming off of the rim in the event of a blow out or puncture; Tyron Bands.
Like it says on the tin, these metal bands are installed on the wheel itself inside of the tyre and stop the bead of the tyre from slipping off when driven on flat allowing the driver to slow down and head to a safe location.
But these bands aren't just limited to caravans, they can be installed on a wide range of vehicles from sizes 13" to 19" inches. These bands are often used in the military for their reconnaissance vehicles, the police for the riot vans and vehicles towed behind a motorhome/caravan.
