Another busy week across the Crawley area! We've been fitting tyres to various vehicles including a single Run Flat Tyre on a BMW 5 Series, a full set of Goodyear Audi Fitment tyres to a brand new Q7, a Wheel Alignment for a Kia Venga and 2 new Bridgestone S001 Tyres with TPMS Valve Replacement on a VW Golf.

The customer with the 17 plate VW Golf in Haywards Heath (seen above), had called our head office with a query for changing all 4 tyres. He wasn't too sure exactly how many he needed though so we opted to take all 4 with us with a view to inspecting the vehicle upon arrival and fitting exactly what the vehicle needed!

Upon inspection, we found it needed 2 tyres replacing, 1 front and 1 rear. We took all tyres off the vehicle, fitting the 2 best older ones to the front axle and the 2 brand new S001 tyres to the rear axle. For information on why we fit new tyres to the rear axle, click here!

Following fitting, we popped the alignment gauges onto the vehicle to perform a FREE ALIGNMENT CHECK for the customer. We use laser alignment gauges so we can easily show a customer if their alignment is out. In this instance, the alignment did need correcting, not too long after the vehicle was correctly aligned and good to go!

The BMW 5 Series shown above needed a single replacement Run Flat Tyre on the rear axle. We had been out to this particular vehicle a couple of days earlier and replaced the Near Side Rear, when we inspected the vehicle on that particular fitting, we noticed the Off Side Rear was down to 2mm, close to the legal limit and certainly below the recommended tread depth!

To ensure the vehicle was handling correctly, we recommended the customer change the 2mm tyre as soon as they were able to. They had booked back in for 2 days later for another to-the-minute appointment at a time to suit them!
