The Release of the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport Range

Goodyear have recently announced the release of their Eagle F1 SuperSport Range, these tyres will provide ultra high performance on both road and track.

They have released 3 models, the Eagle F1 SuperSport, the Eagle F1 SuperSport R and the Eagle F1 SuperSport RS. They have said the new technology in this range will provide significant improvements to braking distances resulting in faster lap times. The tread has been designed with a closed outside pattern, enabling higher levels of control during load transfers and a stiffer sidewall which improves handling without taking away from great ride comfort.

This particular tyre offers spectacular grip on dry road, alongside even better handling, as well as dry handling it also remains excellent in the wet.

Eagle F1 SuperSport R

The SuperSport R has been designed with a high-friction compound, aiming to provide increased grip over the standard SuperSport model, engineered with bridges in the tread pattern the chances of deformation in the tread blocks as a result of extreme cornering has been reduced, resulting in increased cornering stability.

This tyre has been designed to go up against competitors such as the Pirelli P Zero Corsa and Michelin's Pilot Sport Cup 2.

Eagle F1 SuperSport RS

The SuperSport RS is Goodyear's most race-focused tyre, it has been designed to be pushed to the limits on the track whilst also remaining completely road-legal. This tyre has been designed to be fitted to passenger vehicles, they are set to release initial stock March 2019, in sizes 265/35ZR20 and 325/30ZR21. As you can see from the below image there are less tread grooves than the other 2 models, this allows drivers to make the most of their vehicle on the track, it is probably best to avoid using this one on road if you are driving in wet conditions as the tyre will disperse less water than the above options.

All of the new models have been designed to be fitted to anything from a VW Golf GTI, to a BMW M3, to a Porsche 911 Turbo.
