Mike King (Mobile Tyre fitting in Manchester South) 04/07/2018The aluminium valve stems often used with Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems can, and often do corrode and cause problems when trying to inflate the tyre. Sometimes breaking off completely causing complete deflation of the tyre.
The only cure is to replace the complete valve stem which involves the removal of the wheel and partial removal of the tyre.
Idealy this type of valve should be serviced or replaced each time the tyre is removed or replaced, but this procedure is often overlooked.
All Hometyre service vehicles carry spare valves and service kits for most models and can service or replace your valves.
