1965 Ford Mustang gets the Hometyre Treatment.

Recently had the please of working on an American classic muscle car in Sale. Great car to work on - having only recently come over from Arizona, US. Of course it's bone dry over there so no rusty components to content with. We were booked in to replace the old tyres. They had loads of tread but were all quite hard and perishing - something quite normal on low mileage, seldom used classic cars.

The very enthusiastic owner had opted to go for period whitewall tyres too! The car looked so much better for them afterwards and he was genuinely thrilled with the finished job. Having road tested it afterwards, the new rubber completely transformed the car's handling but we noted a slight pull. Five minutes of set-up later and we had the alignment readings. An adjustment was necessary. This could have gone one of two ways - either the adjustment points would have been seized solid through lack of movement over 5 decades- or simple!
Thankfully it was the latter. In fact, one of the most straightforward tracking jobs ever and twenty minutes later and another quick test drive up the road (by the owner!) and this car drove straight, sweet and true...
