Penrith Bead Seal and New Tyre Fitting

Whilst admiring the picturesque views of Penrith, we had a call from the main office saying a customer needed tyres urgently as they had a puncture. This turned out to be a two tyre job as the front off side tyre was becoming dangerously low on the tread depth After collecting the tyres from the local supplier, we arrived at the vehicle to change the tyres and inspect for any damage.

With the rain holding off, we got to work removing the tyres from the wheels. During the removal process, we noticed that the bead area (the valley where the edge of the tyre sits) was starting to corrode slightly. This was pointed out the customer who approved a bead seal repair as it stops the air leaking.

For a bead seal repair, depending on the amount of work involved, prices start from £12 inc VAT per wheel. The tyre is removed and the corroded area is wire brushed to remove the excess and loose rust. Bead sealant is then applied to the area and then left to cure for five minutes. After the curing process, the new tyre is then fitted to the rim, balanced and fitted back onto the vehicle.
