Emergency Call Out for a Range Rover Sport Autobiography

A few times a year we take a look at the demographic of our customers and plan what tyres we keep in our lockup. We have the usual suspects of 205/55 R16 and 205/45 R17 but we also keep more exotic tyres such as the 255/35 R19 Pirelli Runflat Tyre. But what happens when a customer calls in wanting a very specialist tyre for a couple hundred mile old Range Rover Sport Autobiography? Well, we plan for this eventually as we understand that most modern cars don't carry spares!

We recently had a call from a chap who had an argument with a curb which resulted in a flat tyre. He gave the technician a quick call late at night and got himself booked in. Thankfully, we had his tyre available in our storage depot. With the mahoosive 275/40 R22 Pirelli on the van, we headed out to a customer at the hotel. Upon arrival we saw that the tyre had indeed hit a curb via the bulge in the sidewall. The old knackered wheel was taken off the car and placed onto the turn table in the van where we could remove the valve and old tyre. After removal, the alloy was checked for damage. Thankfully, it was beautifully circular and not distorted.

The new Pirelli was guided back onto the alloy, re-inflated, balanced and put back on the Range Rover. This allowed the customer to get back on the road within the hour!
