Mobile Porsche Puncture Repair in Central Bristol
With the roads starting to become filled with thorns, branches and all sorts from hedge cutting, it's becoming more and more common to find people with punctures. This chap was no exception. After the online puncture repair order was placed, the office called the customer to confirm the booking details and got him booked in for the same day. Before heading out, a tyre of the customer's choosing was collected just incase it was in an unrepairable area.
We arrived at the customer's house in central Bristol and inspected all the tyres first. It was quite obvious as to which had gone down but, both the front tyres were starting to look a little low so we popped this information into our free report. Whenever working on a Porsche Cayman, it's good to note whether or not the vehicle has a singular centre locking wheel nut. This is more commonly found on the flagship Porsche models, the GT3 RS for example. If we do encounter the single spindle nut, we will have to use a special locking wheel nut as the nuts have to be torqued to such a high setting (over 600nm in some cases!)
But, for this beautifully gleaming Black Porsche Cayman, this was not necessary. We jacked up the rear of the vehicle and placed it onto jack-stands. The wheel was then loosened, taken off and placed on the bench in our van. Before breaking the bead, we sprayed the wheel with a mixture of soap and water to try and find the puncture. Thankfully, it was just a large thorn in the centre of the tread. The tyre was deflated and the bead broke so we could start the puncture repair. We removed the thorn, drilled the hole out to the size of our plug, prepped the inside of the tyre for rubber cement and pulled the plug through to fill the gap. This was left a couple of minutes to cure.
