Motorhome Tyres, RV Tyres and Camper Tyres

Quite often, camping and leisure vehicles are parked up and stored for considerable periods of time. It's during these times that certain problems can occur.

Deterioration due to ultra-violet light and low-level ozone causes hardening and splitting of the sidewall and tread surface. Also, prolonged periods without movement can cause the tyres to gain a 'memory' of the position and become distorted. Check tyres and pressures thoroughly before any planned journey – don't be the one to get stuck on the hard shoulder for hours!

Maintenance Tips For Motorhome Tyres

  • During periods of inactivity, cover the wheel/tyre assemblies with waterproof/breathable material.
  • Watch out for cuts in the sidewall, cracks & deformed tyres.
  • Start and move the vehicle regularly.
  • Check the tyre pressures regularly – paying close attention to the valve assembly for any signs of perishing or leaks.
  • Check tyre wear regularly.
