Pothole repairs could alleviate strain on tyres in Cumbria

Car tyres damage strain CumbriaPothole damage to tyres in Cumbria has caused many motorists to contact a complaint hotline, judging by a report.

According to an article in the News & Star publication, £3 million has been set aside for road repairs in the county.

It also claims that tyre fitting services have seen an increase in damaged products, with this year's freezing winter causing unwelcome crevices on road surfaces.

The piece quotes a council spokesman, who suggested that potholes need to be fixed permanently rather than patched up.

He said: "First-time permanent repairs not only minimise inconvenience for motorists, they also mean our teams are not repeatedly going back to carry out repairs at the same locations."

Drivers may welcome any measures to seal cracks in the road, which could reduce the damage done to tyres.

Recently, Gloucestershire county council started work on fixing potholes throughout the region, which could cost as much as £5 million.ADNFCR-2762-ID-19595896-ADNFCR
