While a likely result of the economic crisis, motorists are placing themselves in increasing risk, not to mention financial loss while opting for these items. The history of a used tyre is totally unknown and could have serious structural defects. Tyres also have a shelf life and should be replaced within five years of manufacture for many applications. Part worn tyres are often sold at much older ages.
