Drivers who undertake home tyre fitting measures may want to make sure that their wheels are able to perform in wet weather.
That's because Trafficmaster has warned that December 18th – when many families begin their Christmas break – is expected to feature cold and wet road conditions.
As such, it may be a good idea for drivers to inspect their tyres before they head out over the holiday getaway.
Graham Smith, data manager at the organisation, suggested that motorists should not leave anything to chance.
He said: "The great unknown factor affecting congestion at this time of year is of course, the weather.
"We'd encourage anyone travelling in the run-up to Christmas to plan their journey in advance."
In other news, Tyrepress recently reported that Techking Tires will launch a low-rolling resistance car tyre selection – Effiplus – in January 2010.
The product will be a passenger car tyre, which could potentially broaden the company's market base.
