BMW's range of cars has been praised for its reliability, it has emerged.
In the FN50 reliability survey carried out by Grant Thornton and Fleet News, the firm's vehicles were commended as being the most reliable cars for business purposes in terms of the number of breakdowns per model across its fleet for the second year in a row.
Steve Chater, corporate operations manager for the BMW Group, said: "We're absolutely delighted to win this award because the FN50 Reliability Survey is based on cold, hard facts, not opinion or interpretation."
In terms of individual cars, the BMW 3 Series came second on the top ten most reliable cars list, while the BMW 5 Series and MINI was placed fifth and eighth respectively.
Drivers keen on reducing the number of breakdowns and other motoring mishaps while on the road should look to keep their tyres in good condition.
Purchasing a tyre pressure monitoring system could help with this, as such a device can help motorists to keep an eye on braking, tyre wear, control and fuel economy.
