Pirelli tyres may have played in their part in Mikko Hirvonen's recent victory in the Monte Carlo Rally.
The Finnish driver claimed first position in the event, which comprises part of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.
With the race taking place amid freezing conditions, it is perhaps a testament to Pirelli's tyres that Hirvonen was able to cross the finish line first.
Commenting on the victory, he claimed that the result had much to do with making the right tyre decisions.
He stated: "Monte Carlo is a rally that is all about tyres. It's a question of getting the choice right and basically making sure that the tyres are up to the job."
The racer - who got behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta S2000 – finished the race almost two minutes ahead of second position.
Meanwhile, drivers might want to consider purchasing Pirelli's Winter Sottozero Serie II - which the company recommends for sports cars and high-powered saloons.
