Vettel takes No.1 at Telefonica Grand Prix of Europe

Sebastien Vettel claimed victory at the European Grand Prix this weekend (27/06/10). Starting from pole, the young driver held his nerve to finish in front of the two on-form McLaren-Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button.

Falling down the field from thier respective grid positions, pitstops issues gave both Ferrari team mates Alonso and Massa  weekends to forget.

RBR team mate Webber wasn't quite so fortunate, following his stop for replacement harder Bridgestone tyres on lap seven the Australian ran into the back of Heikki Kovalainen's Lotus in a virtual repeat of an earlier GP2 accident.

Vettel jumps to third overall in the championship with Hamilton clinging on to his six point lead.
