Toyota named 'greenest car'

Toyota is the greenest auto manufacturer, according to research by cleangreencars.co.uk.

A study by the organisation discovered that it is the first UK carmaker to go below the 130g/km level for average carbon emissions across its range of models.

This is the target that the European Union has set for all car manufacturers to reach by 2013.

Commenting on the achievement, Jay Nagle from cleangreencars.co.uk said: "It is highly significant that a major manufacturer has met the EU target."

He added: "It means no mainstream car manufacturer has an excuse for failing to meet the target in future."

Meanwhile, Michelin's latest campaign – entitled The Right Tyre Changes Everything – stresses how the correct wheels can help drivers be more environmentally-friendly as it can reduce fuel consumption.
