Those who are on the lookout for new performance tyres might be interested in new rule changes for the upcoming Formula 1 season.
Front tyre width has been cut from 270mm to 245mm, which could potentially make races more entertaining as cars will be more difficult to handle.
The new race series – which begins this Friday (March 12th) – will also see vehicles given less time to receive replacement tyres.
Pit stops will now take about three seconds when teams change their tyres, compared with about eight or nine seconds previously.
Also, the top ten participants at the start of each contest will be required to begin with the tyres they used for qualification.
Other rule changes that could transform the dynamics of the tournament include a new points total of 25 for the race winner and 18 for second place.
This year, the Silverstone grand prix will take place on July 9th to the 11th 2010.
