Volvo drivers can benefit from Michelin tyres

Drivers on the lookout for new tyres may be interested to learn that a contract between Michelin and Volvo has been extended.

The former organisation will continue to be the tyre supplier for the carmaker, while the two companies are also set to engage in an environmental research partnership.

Pete Selleck, president of the tyre maker's worldwide truck tyre business, explained: "Michelin and the Volvo Group share the same vision of socially and environmentally responsible mobility."

He went on to suggest that the relationship is set to benefit consumers searching for larger vehicle products, adding that Volvo will be provided with "innovations that improve transport company performance while also protecting the environment".

In particular, the development of low fuel consumption tyres for Volvo vehicles could be welcomed by eco-conscious consumers.

According to Michelin, over nine billion litres of fuel has been saved since 1992 due to its Green Energy saving tyres.
