Michelin tyres have helped Renault to make its most environmentally-friendly car ever.
The new Clio dCi 86 Renault eco² has carbon emissions of just 98g/km - low enough for it to be in the zero car tax bracket. It also represents a cut of 15 per cent from the cleanest Renault Clio currently available.
Renault has made a number of changes to the engine and body of the vehicle to minimise emissions and help the Clio dCi 86 Renault eco² achieve a combined fuel economy figure of 76.3mpg.
The French carmaker has also fitted low-energy consumption Michelin tyres, which are designed to reduce rolling resistance.
In conjunction with aerodynamic adjustments to the car's body, the Michelin tyres have helped Renault to achieve a five per cent reduction in drag.
Michelin has also been working on other products designed to help automakers produce greener cars and recently launched a tyre specifically for electric vehicles.
