The 235/40 ZR 18 Michelin Pilot Sport 2 high-performance tyres are to be fit as standard to the new Megane Renaultsport 250 Cup.
Due out in January 2010, the auto will also feature a thicker anti-roll bar, different springs and dampers, as well as limited slip differential.
Commenting on the tyres – which are also fit as standard to the Bugatti Veyron – Michelin explained they have an asymmetric pattern.
This means they are able to "offer high levels of dry grip due to larger tread blocks and fewer grooves on the outer shoulders".
It further helps the wheels have good grip during wet conditions thanks to the shape and positioning of the engraves.
Earlier this month, Michelin was voted the most prominent online tyre brand by the publication Tyres and Accessories.
It was the fifth consecutive year the company had secured a place in the top spot.
Commenting, Michelin's head of communications Peter Snelling said he was delighted with the honour.
