Hometyre Proudly Partners with TyreSafe to Champion Tyre Safety Across the UK

Hometyre is delighted to announce that it has become an Official Supporter of TyreSafe, the UK's charity dedicated to raising awareness of tyre safety and the importance of correct tyre maintenance.

For Hometyre, it's a partnership that simply makes sense.

Tyre safety has always been at the heart of the Hometyre business. Every day, technicians across the Hometyre network help motorists understand the condition of their tyres, identify potential safety issues and make informed decisions about when tyres need repairing or replacing.

Now, by working alongside TyreSafe, Hometyre can take that commitment even further.

Who is TyreSafe?

TyreSafe is a registered UK charity dedicated to improving road safety by raising awareness of the importance of correct tyre maintenance and the dangers associated with defective and illegal tyres.

Founded in 2006, TyreSafe works with organisations across the automotive industry, emergency services, local authorities, road safety partnerships and other organisations to educate motorists and encourage better tyre maintenance.

Its ultimate goal is simple: to eliminate harm caused by illegal and poorly maintained tyres.

It's a goal that Hometyre is very proud to support.

Tyre safety is something Hometyre genuinely cares about

For Hometyre, tyres have never simply been about selling a product.

They're one of the most important safety components on any vehicle.

Acceleration, braking, steering and cornering all depend on the relatively small area of tyre that connects a vehicle with the road. Looking after those tyres can therefore make an enormous difference to the safety of the driver, their passengers and everyone else around them.

That's why Hometyre technicians don't just arrive, fit tyres and leave.

They regularly help customers understand tread depth, tyre condition, pressures, puncture damage and other issues that could affect the safety and performance of their vehicle.

Becoming an Official TyreSafe Supporter allows Hometyre to reinforce those messages to even more motorists.

Remember your A.C.T.

One of TyreSafe's key messages is wonderfully simple: A.C.T.

Motorists are encouraged to regularly check their tyres' Air pressure, Condition and Tread.

Air Pressure – Tyres should be inflated to the vehicle manufacturer's recommended pressures. Incorrect pressures can affect handling, braking, tyre wear and efficiency.

Condition – Look around each tyre for anything unusual, including cuts, cracks, lumps, bulges or objects embedded in the tyre.

Tread – Check there is sufficient tread remaining across the tyre. The UK legal minimum for cars is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre, around its entire circumference.

TyreSafe recommends carrying out these simple checks every month and before long journeys.

Drivers can find lots more useful information and practical advice in TyreSafe's tyre safety resources.

Taking tyre safety into our local communities

One of the things Hometyre is particularly excited about is the opportunity for its franchise network to get involved.

Hometyre isn't based in one central workshop. Its mobile technicians live and work within the communities they serve across the UK.

Through the partnership with TyreSafe, Hometyre hopes to become involved in local tyre safety campaigns, community engagement events and road safety initiatives throughout the country.

That could mean working alongside local authorities and road safety organisations, attending community events, helping motorists understand how to check their tyres or simply using Hometyre's local presence to get important safety messages in front of more people.

TyreSafe already works with its supporter network on community engagement activities where organisations can provide practical tyre checks, advice and education.

For Hometyre's franchisees, these activities provide a fantastic opportunity to support road safety while becoming even more involved within their own local communities.

Sharing trusted tyre safety information

The partnership also gives Hometyre access to TyreSafe's extensive library of educational resources, campaigns, animations and social media materials.

Customers can therefore expect to see plenty more tyre safety information appearing across Hometyre's website and social channels.

And, of course, October's Tyre Safety Month will be an important date in the Hometyre calendar!

It's all about making tyre safety information straightforward, accessible and easy to act upon.

Proud to Support TyreSafe

Hometyre is incredibly proud to display the Proud to Support TyreSafe badge.

For customers, it represents something that has always been part of the Hometyre ethos: tyre safety matters.

Whether that's advising a customer that their existing tyres still have plenty of life left in them, identifying a tyre that isn't safe, carrying out a professional puncture repair where appropriate, or simply explaining how to perform basic tyre checks, the aim is the same – helping motorists make safe and informed decisions.

Becoming an Official TyreSafe Supporter gives Hometyre an even bigger platform from which to do that.

Hometyre looks forward to working alongside TyreSafe, supporting its national campaigns and getting involved with road safety initiatives within communities across the UK.

Because when it comes to tyres, safety should always come first.
