Formula Ford and Dunlop strike partnership

Dunlop tyres are set to be used in next year's Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain, it has been revealed.

Working alongside Formula Ford, the firm is currently developing radial tyres in both slick and wet in time for the 2010 season.

In addition, Dunlop will be lending its name as title sponsor to the event, which will be known as the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain.

"Formula Ford teams will soon start the new-tyre testing programme and we expect that they and their drivers will be very pleased with the results of Dunlop's hard work," Sam Roach, of Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship promoter RacingLin, states.

Michael Butler, Dunlop's motorsport manager, points out that the firm has developed a new tyre which makes use of its latest compound and construction technology and is set to be "a major enhancement to a massively popular formula".

Earlier this year, Arthur de Bok, president of the company's Europe, Middle East and African region, outlined the company's commitment to making products which enhance road safety.
