With cheap premium tyres on the shopping list of many motorists this year, one website has outlined some of the products that aspirational buyers could think about in the long-term.
According to an article on the Autocar website, owners of Volkswagen's Bugatti Veyron motor have to fork out £23,500 for a set of four tyres.
It notes that this is because the motor can travel at speeds of 253 miles per hour, which means that the model requires new tyres fitted regularly.
Moreover, routine service costs amount to £12,866 - which might offer drivers an indication of how much money well-heeled motorists part with for new tyres.
Also, the Veyron's rims must be stress-tested for cracks at every fourth tyre change – perhaps due to its blistering speed.
In other motoring news, it was recently announced that minister for road safety, Paul Clark, will launch the Fleet Safety Forum's yearly conference on March 2nd 2010 – which may be a good opportunity for driving enthusiasts to seek advice on their tyre options.
