Challenging road surfaces have caused damage to tyres in Coventry, according to a recent report.
The Coventry Telegraph newspaper claims that the city's council will put an additional £100,000 more than previously planned towards fixing potholes.
A local resident's comments arguably highlight the need for drivers to get regular tyre inspections.
Dave Morris, a tradesman, is quoted by the publication as saying: "I took the car to the mechanic who said both of the tyres were misshapen."
He said that it was particularly worrying to witness his car's tendency to veer to the right after hitting a pothole, adding: "We know there are potholes around but it's never been this bad before."
Mr Morris also claimed that he has spent more than £100 in order to secure two new front tyres for his motor.
Following the recent cold weather experienced across the UK, the Institute of Advanced Motorists noted that potholes cost drivers about £320 million every year.
