Keep tyres inflated to improve efficiency

The efficiency of motor vehicles can be improved by making sure tyres are fully inflated, according to accessories manufacturer Ring Automotive.

With a new range of five compressors launched by the firm, it is explaining to motorists why it is important to maintain tyre pressures at their optimal value.

"As well as increasing the consumption of fuel, underinflated tyres wear out quicker than normal," Ring Automotive asserts.

"This increased wear and reduction in the life of the tyre results in costly new tyres."

By maintaining tyre pressures, it is not just money that could be saved, but also the environment.

Ring Automotive says that making sure the vehicle is operating efficiently can also reduce carbon dioxide emissions, helping to make driving more eco-friendly.

The Irish Times also recently noted the advantages of using the correct tyre pressure.

However, it added that heavier loads may require different pressures, meaning tyres should be adjusted accordingly.
