Jorge Lorenzo 'made the best of Bridgestone tyres'

Bridgestone Tyres assist Jorge Lorenzo Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo has made the best of his Bridgestone tyres during the free practice for the Malaysian Grand Prix.

According to F1SA, the competitor managed to perform well with track temperatures peaking at 50 degrees C to achieve the fastest time.

Commenting, manager of Bridgestone's motorcycle tyre development division Tohru Ubakata explained the rider chose to use a hard wheel option for the front and soft one for the rear.

He noted that the other competitors' use of soft and hard slicks varied.

"We can say that even the softer option [Bridgestone] front has enough durability for more than race distance despite the high temperature," Mr Ubakata stated.

He concluded that Lorenzo came extremely close to the lap record that was set by Casey on a 990cc Ducati in 2007 – highlighting how strong the performance had been.

As well as producing tyres for motorbikes, Bridgestone manufactures them for cars, SUVs, vans, trucks and 4x4s.ADNFCR-2762-ID-19424885-ADNFCR
