Michelin 4x4 tyres praised for performance

Michelin 4x4 tyres have been praised for helping a vehicle win a title at a recent event.

A TD5-powered hardtop Defender 90 took home the gong for speediest motor at the World's Fastest Land Rover Defender shootout, which was held at Bruntingthorpe in Leicestershire.

The vehicle was fitted with R 18 Michelin Diamaris high performance 4x4 tyres.

Charlie Fawcett, owner of the car, said he was pleased to have won the title, especially as some of the competing vehicles were more powerful.

He added the tyres gave so much grip, the driver said it was like operating a Clio race car when it turned the corners.

"The Michelin tyres really made a difference as we were able use every one of our 239bhp to easily win both of the timed circuit sprints and the overall title," Mr Fawcett stated.

Owners of 4x4 vehicles may be interested in the manufacturer's Latitude Alpin products, which are designed especially for winter.
