The current weather conditions are making it difficult to get anywhere fast - but your 4x4 tyres need to be inflated properly if you are planning to hit the road.
According to the BBC, proper tyre inflation is key to a safe journey in such extreme ice and snow.
They should also have a minimum of three millimetres of tread in order to grip the surface properly - so if this means buying some cheap premium tyres, then it might be worth the investment.
Other advice given by the BBC included keeping the petrol tank topped up, so there is enough fuel should a longer route need to be taken or you are left stranded.
Screenwash should also be topped up before setting off and drivers are advised to store warm clothing in the car in case they have to go outside.
"Always pack the following - warm coat, hat, gloves, sturdy boots, a blanket to keep you warm if you get stuck," it added.
More severe weather warnings were issued by the Met Office today (January 7th).
The entire UK has been urged to be prepared for further extreme conditions.
