The best place to find your car's tyre size is by checking the sidewall of your current tyres! You can check the recommended sizes for your vehicle by using the vehicle registration online, in your vehicle's handbook or on the sticker inside the driver's door or the fuel cap.

When purchasing new tyres, the most direct and efficient way to find your tyre size is by checking the numbers written on the sidewall of the tyres fitted to your vehicle.

How do I know if I have the wrong size tyres?

Many vehicles have multiple wheel and tyre size options – to ensure the exact size you have fitted to your vehicle is designed to go on it, check the size options in your handbook!

My tyre sizes are different – is this safe?

The answer to this question depends entirely on your vehicle! Some vehicle's are designed to have a staggered size front and rear. More commonly this means the tyres are wider on the rear axle, this is generally done for performance and handling purposes.

If the initial numbers of your tyre size e.g. 205/55R16 are the same but the following numbers and letters differ e.g. 91V / 94W XL, this resembles the same size tyre but with a differing speed and load rating.

This will not cause an issue with regards to the tyre size. Providing you're running your vehicle with the same, or higher, on both load and speed rating as recommended for the vehicle, you're fine!
