Tyre Pressure Light Reset on Citroen DS3 – Hometyre Mobile Tyres

As a responsible car owner, paying attention to your vehicle's warning lights is crucial for ensuring a safe and smooth driving experience. One of the most common warning lights that can appear on your dashboard is the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) light. If you're wondering what this light means and how to turn it off, you're in good hands!

The large majority of Citroen's are Indirect TPMS, this means the tyre pressures are monitored by the ABS sensor.

What Does The Tyre Pressure Light Look Like?

The TPMS light looks like an exclamation mark inside a horseshoe-shaped symbol. When it illuminates on your dashboard, it's indicating an issue with your tyre pressure. The TPMS is a smart system designed to monitor the air pressure in your tyres continuously. If it detects that any of your tyres are significantly underinflated, it triggers the warning light to alert you of potential safety risks.

What Do I Do If My TPMS Light Is On?

Before calling a professional out to inspect, there are a few things you can do to try and resolve the issue yourself!

Check Your Pressures – stop off at the garage and check your tyre pressures. Inflate (or deflate) your tyres to the recommended pressures for your driving stated on the card inside the door or fuel cap. Once this has been done, you just need to hit the Tyre Pressure Reset button inside the vehicle.

If your light goes off temporarily but comes back on after a short while, you may have a slow leak or puncture. If this is the case, give us a call or book a puncture repair online. We'll come out with a to-the-minute appointment at a time/date to suit you at your location! 😊

My TPMS Light Won't Go Off!

If your tyre pressures are correct but the light won't go off, you may have a deeper issue. This could be a problem caused by a faulty ABS sensor or wire. If this is the case, unfortunately your car will need to be looked at by a mechanic and the sensor/wire to be changed as required.
